How to Renew Vehicle Registration in LTO

Vehicle registration in LTO is a long and hassle process. It may take 2-5 hours to process your applications especially in peak office hours. Good thing, there’s no lunch break in all LTO district offices. LTO offices usually open at 8am Monday-Friday, some branches open at 7am and 9am.

However, smart individuals know how to shorten the process without reaching the boiling point. I’m not saying by paying fixers which is totally illegal and expensive. It’s by knowing the procedure early and preparing the documents you need before processing.

For new car owners, your car’s initial registration is good for three years. Once it expires, it’s time for you to renew it every year at your nearest LTO district office on schedule to avoid ₱200 weekly fine.
