How To Get Police Clearance In The Philippines

Why do you need a police clearance?

Police clearance is one of the basic requirements needed by any company when applying for a job locally or abroad.

It is also a requirement when getting an NBI clearance, a passport, business permits and even postal ID in the Philippines.

Police clearance is a document that certifies and proof that a person has NO pending criminal case or bad records. Any person can get a police clearance from the nearest Police Stations.

Police Clearance

Requirements:

  • A Valid ID like Driver’s License, Postal ID, Voter’s ID or SSS ID.
  • Latest Cedula (Community Tax Certificate)
  • Baranggay Clearance
  • Application form (provided by your municipality)

Steps on how to get your Police Clearance:

1. Go to the nearest police station in your municipality or town. Make sure to bring the requirements (Cedula and Barangay Clearance).

2. Tell to the officer in charge that you need to get a police clearance and why you need it. Just tell to the officer in charge that you it for employment.

3. Fill out the application form and pay the necessary fees in the treasurer’s office.

4. Once your personal data has been encoded, they will take a photo of you and scan your fingerprints.

5. You need to pay Php150.00 for the police clearance.

You can get the police clearance in less than 30 minutes in some municipalities and cities like Quezon City (Where I live). I got mine in less than 10 minutes since I don’t have to fall in line that long.

Make sure provide all the details accurately, don’t fake your personal information to avoid any issues or discrepancy with your application.

The police clearance expires in 1 year that it has been issued.
