National Bureau of Investigation has launched a website to process your NBI clearance online. Today, you can now process your NBI Clearance anywhere as long as there’s an internet connection, without the hassle of long queues like before. You can process your application through your computer or mobile device by simply clicking and entering few information, easy right?
In this article, let me guide you step-by-step on how you can process your NBI Clearance online.
Take note, effective January 2018, NBI had strictly implemented the “No Appointment No Entry Policy” for NBI clearance processing. Meaning, you can’t process your clearance on same day of application. They have advised to register online first and have your appointment date set in advance before going to any NBI Clearance satellite office.
Why do you need an NBI Clearance?
It is one of the requirements when applying for a job, both for local and overseas employment. It is considered as secondary ID or supporting documents when transacting with government and private offices.
The NBA clearance is required because they want to make sure that you don’t have any criminal records. If you have a “HIT”, you can verify it with the NBI and you can ask them how to clean your name.
Similar to the police clearance, it has a validity period of one year. The reason why the NBI Clearance is only valid for one year is because the NBI wants to make sure that you have not committed a crime or has been involved in a criminal offence within a year.
Note: You need to register online first before you can apply for your NBI Clearance.
How to register NBI Clearance online:
- Go to https://clearance.nbi.gov.ph/ using any internet browser on your pc or mobile device.
- For first time applicants, you need to check the “NO” checkbox as shown below. If you want to renew your old NBI clearance, check “YES”.
- Fill-out all the fields, once done, click “PROCEED” button to go to the next screen.
- Click “I Accept Terms of Service” checkbox and hit the “Sign Up” button.
- Just agree to whatever confirmation buttons will pop-up next and you’re done! You can now apply for NBI Clearance online.
How to apply NBI Clearance online:
- Sign-in with your account, under “Application” menu on the left screen, fill-out all the required fields and make sure it’s all correct and accurate. Once done, click “SAVE INFORMATION” button.
- Next is the summary page of your information, if there’s something wrong with the information you entered, you can hit “EDIT INFORMATION” button to modify things before clicking on “APPLY FOR CLEARANCE” button.
- You will be prompted to enter a 6-digit pin. Make sure to save it in your pc or mobile device.Next page, indicate any government valid ID you will present on the day of your appointment.
- Once you’ve clicked the “I Agree” button, you’ill be getting a message window below. Just close it and proceed to the appointment schedule and payment page.
- Set your appointment schedule and payment.
1. Select the NBI branch where you will be getting your NBI Clearance.2. Select the Date of your appointment.
3. Select the Purpose of your application. Take note, there’s an additional fee of P25 for using the e-payment system.
4. Select the Payment Options for your application.
- Under the “Transactions” menu, look for the “Payment instruction” button and follow the instructions on the page that will open.
- The payment status will change from “Pending” to “Paid“, when your payment is verified.
- Lastly, once the payment is verified, the “Details” button will appear. Click that button to print your application form, you’ll bring that on your appointment day.
What to do on the Appointment day:
- Go to the NBI satellite office you’ve entered in your application.
- Bring the ID you mentioned in your application.
- Bring your printed NBI clearance application form.
- Don’t wear shorts and slippers, dress up accordingly.
- Ask the staffs when you get there, tell them that you have applied for NBI Clearance online so you will be guided.
You will have your NBI Clearance printed on the same day. If you get a “HIT“, you’ll need to go back again on the date specified in the ticket to claim your NBI Clearance Certificate.
