Do you want to have a card that you can use for online shopping or allowance sending? Not only that, you can also use this card for local and international ATM cash withdrawals. How cool is that?
And no, I’m not talking about having a credit card. I’m referring to BDO Cash Card which is a prepaid, reloadable card. Yes, it’s prepaid and you can load it anytime you need it.
How to Get a BDO Cash Card
The good thing about this BDO Cash Card is that it’s very easy to have. You only need to pay P150 to get this card at any BDO branch nationwide. Just prepare 1 valid ID.
There’s no need to open a Savings Account or Checking Account with BDO to have this BDO Cash Card.
Another good thing is it doesn’t have maintaining balance. You don’t have to worry about the fees or penalties if there’s no balance in your cash card. It’s totally fine.
Customers are allowed to have a maximum of 5 BDO Cash Cards.
2 Types of BDO Cash Card
- Pre-embossed or unnamed cards – you can get this immediately after paying P150
- Embossed or named cards – these are available within 3-5 banking days for Metro Manila branches and 5-7 days for outside Metro Manila.
Features of BDO Cash Card
The BDO Cash Card works like a credit card or a debit card in terms of its usage. It’s very easy to use. Just swipe your card and enter your PIN when you make purchases at over 20,000 merchants nationwide.
With the BDO Cash Card, you can shop and pay at accredited Mastercard merchants worldwide. Yes, you can use this card when you travel abroad.
You can also withdraw cash from any ATM here in the Philippines and in other countries using your BDO Cash Card.
If you want to purchase items or book reservations online like flights or hotel accommodations, you can definitely use this BDO Cash Card conveniently.
In terms of security, the BDO Cash Card is safe to use because it has the EMV chip that protects us from card fraud. I think it’s even safer than a debit card or credit card since it does not expose the details on the card.
This cash card can also be a good way to discipline ourselves in terms of making impulsive purchases. Why? Because you have full control over the amount that you will load to your BDO cash card which means that you will only have to use what’s on the card.
The BDO Cash Card does not require an annual fee but it has a validity period which is displayed on the front of the card. Once it expires, you are required to replace your expired card by visiting your issuing branch.
When your card is lost or stolen, call the BDO Contact Center at 631-8000 immediately to suspend your card then visit your issuing branch to have the card replaced.
How to Reload BDO Cash Card
The initial load in the Cash Card shall be at least P100.00 which automatically activates the cash card.
Since this is a prepaid and reloadable cash card, you need to reload it via any BDO branch or ATM. If you have a separate BDO deposit account, it may be easier and more convenient to reload in the long run if you enroll your BDO Cash Card through BDO Online, Mobile or Phone Banking.
Once it’s enrolled in your regular deposit account online, you can reload it 24/7, anytime, and anywhere. If you ran out of cash, you can reload it immediately.
